The Lomo’Instant Automat Camera

Lomography has created a new instant camera in the form of the Lomo’Instant Automat Camera. What’s great about it? The Automat is the second generation of the Lomo’Instant camera, offering updates and improvements over the company’s original instant camera, which they successfully Kickstarted over two years ago.

The Lomo’Instant Automat Camera is tiny, smart, beautiful and easy to use. Perfect for beginners and professionals, the Automat is the only instant camera that combines these automatic settings with a plethora of creative features. You can shoot everything from remote control selfies, to experimental light paintings, endless multiple exposures and so much more – the producer’s ensure it.

The company behind the product describes the Lomo’Instant Automat as “small, yet mighty,” able to shoot in a variety of situations, including low-light environments. Thecamera features a built-in lens with a focal length equivalent of 35mm, a remote control lens cap, a dedicated exposure compensation button, the ability to enable and disable the flash, support for multiple exposures and an LED exposure counter to track how much film is remaining.

When it comes to film, the Lomo’Instant Automat makes use of the popular Fujifilm Instax Mini. This is an ideal choice for instant cameras, since it keeps the size of the actual camera down while still offering a really great, fun-sized print.

Furthermore, this camera also has two shooting modes to choose from: an automatic mode and a bulb mode. The former lets you automatically adjust the shutter speed, aperture and flash output to suit your surroundings. The latter allows you to shoot long exposures for up to 30 seconds. It’s ideal for use during the night, for low-light shooting and for creating fancy light paintings.

If that wasn’t enough, overall design is also worthy of note. The camera will be available in four styles and colors – black, white, red, and yellow – and is compatible with a wide-angle lens, fisheye lens, ‘close-up’ lens, and interchangeable color gels. Lomography also adds “tons of goodies” such as photo clips and magnet stickers to display snaps.

Lomography offers several backing options on its crowdfunding campaign, including a ‘super early bird’ model in white or black for $96 USD, a ‘Kickstarter special’ for $112 USD, and a ‘super early bird combo’ for $115 USD. Therefore, if you want to be one of the first to get your hands on the new instant camera from Lomography, start supporting them on Kickstarter.
